The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past is an action adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the third Legend of Zelda game and was released in 1991 in Japan. A Link to the Past is a prequel to the original The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, at the beginning of the game, Link, the last descendant of the Knights of Hyrule, is awakened by a telepathic message from Princess Zelda, who says that she has been locked in Hyrule Castle's dungeon. As the message closes, Link finds his uncle ready to rescue Zelda, telling Link to remain in bed.
